Education

A core goal as part of their education, growth and development is child sponsorship for education.

For £250 a year you can sponsor a child’s education, this includes school fees, meals, uniform and medical cover.

Sunrise Kids Nepal wants to equip each orphanage with a comprehensive Library Kit that will encourage learning and personal development: £250 each.

Play and Home Environment

We wish to provide each orphanage with basic, safe toys and games that will help develop:

• Children's Self Esteem
• Confidence
• Communication Skills
• Friendships
• Creativity
• Problem Solving Skills

We aim to provide a “Play Kit” at the cost of £100 per orphanage and to ensure they are able to get a safe night’s rest after this, bedding / mosquito netting at £15 per child.

We are also aiming to refurbish the sleeping and living environment at each orphanage, with clean bedding and mattresses and repainting each orphanage at a cost of £250 per orphanage.

Community

As part of children’s personal growth and development within a community, we want to ensure that each orphanage provides a safe, clean and encouraging environment in which they can grow and develop.

Ensuring each child as an adequate supply of clean clothing, both inner and outer garments, and adequate footwear is essential. We can achieve this for just £25 per child per year.

Health and Hygiene

We will equip each orphanage with a comprehensive first aid kit and some local first aid training for the Orphanage Parents who care for the children.

We will also be purchasing wash bags, and supplying every child with their own individual essential toiletries including 4 toothbrushes, toothpaste, wash cloths, soap, a comb, and a supply of shampoo for the orphanage.

We will provide each child with a year’s supply of essential items to ensure ongoing good hygiene and long term well being.

A combined total cost of £250 per orphanage should supply a first aid kit, first aid training, and a year’s supply of essential toiletries per child.

Farming and Agriculture

The orphanages supported by Sunrise Kids Nepal aim to develop their own farming and fishery resources.

Farming methods are very basic compared to the modern technology we enjoy in Europe. You can see from the fish pond at Chitwan Orphanage, the stagnant conditions they have to deal with.

A water pump and filtration equipment is urgently required by several of the orphanages, available at an investment of around £500 each. We want to provide financial assistance to purchase livestock for farming purposes with the intention to sell produce at local market

Long Term Sustainability

Frequent power cuts and a lack of available clean water are common problems faced by many people in Nepal.

Sunrise Kids Nepal aims to raise funds to provide Solar Panel Units for several orphanages in 2010 and beyond, to ensure essential equipment such as fans and fridges can run, and that children have light to work and play in during hours of sundown Solar Panel Units require an investment of around £500 each.
