Board of Trustees

We currently have a board of 6 Trustees who responsibility is to run the charity and to ensure that all funds raised, are invested, effectively and legitimately for the benefit of the children’s orphanages supported by Sunrise Kids Nepal, in line with our Vision and Mission, and core objectives.

• Charity Directory: John McCann
  John is a Senior Consultant and has worked in the learning and development / consultancy industry for the last ten years. He became interested in charity work after a visit in 2008 to Nepal and having witnessed the difference a £1000 donation could make to the children’s orphanages in Chitwan and Kathmandu, decided to set up a charity with real purpose and clear goals and objectives.
  
  
• Secretary: Tamsin Richer
  Tamsin is a civil servant working for the UK Border Agency, working in Dover, Calais and Hong Kong over the last 9 years. She has completed the Moonwalk a couple of times, raising money for Breast Cancer charities. Tamsin has spent some time in Nepal with the children she is hoping to help through Sunrise Kids Nepal.
  
  
• Director of Fundraising: Daniel Townsend
  Daniel is a Business Development Manager with Kaplan which is the largest training and education provider in the world. He has held the position for 4 years and is based in London. Since taking part in the Three Peaks Challenge 2 years ago raising over £6,000 for Care International Daniel has wanted to take a more hands on approach; getting involved in a charity where he can change children’s lives one success story at a time.
  
  
• PR / Media Director: Niki Kelly
  Niki is a director of Skills4Learning, a training company based in Kent.  Niki has been involved in fundraising from a young age and has raised money for a variety of charities most notably the Pilgrims Hospice in Kent.  Niki has worked with young people for over 12 years and will bring experience of education and working with children to Sunrise Kids Nepal.
  
  
• Treasurer / Fundraising Director: Rob Kelly
  Rob has been involved with charity work for several years.  Rob is originally from Runcorn in Cheshire and has now settled in Kent but still holds fundraising events in both areas, supporting charities nationwide.
  
  
• International Projects Director: Michael Lorrigan
  Michael is Managing Director of Spearhead Training Middle East.  He has held the position for thirteen years and is based in Dubai. Michael has been actively involved in working with the self-sustaining orphanages in Nepal for the past four years. He and his wife adopted a Nepalese orphan in February 2008.

• Nepal Representative: Dipendra Dhakal
  Dipendra is Managing Director of Travel de Society, a Nepalese travel and tour operator. Dipendra is our locally based contact in Kathmandu, Nepal. He has been actively involved at a high level with the foundation of these orphanages over the last 5 years and we are delighted to have the opportunity to work with him to help Sunrise Kids Nepal achieve our goals.
